New Landscapes: Fall From Summer

Gotta find my way back
– home
Gotta find a road
To bring me back soon
To you
A beautiful journey
From Summer
To a far-off horizon
– in Fall
New Landscapes: Fall In Reflection – Part 02

Part 2 of Fall In Reflection. A Compositional change in form; moving toward subtle abstraction.
New Landscapes: Fall In Reflection – Part 01

This short series entitled “Fall” is a collection of recent photographs taken with my Android phone during the summer months. What I am attempting to accomplish is a slight transition to the beauty of the Fall season by implementing various color, textural, and tonal changes. Embracing a new landscape; anticipating the coming season that we all have come to love.
New Landscapes: Fall In Colors

The Digital Painting I Found Myself In

A portrait reveals a moment in time that can express a lifetime of mystery. In a photograph or painting, the artist seeks to find the deeper essence of the subject and reveal the inner persona via the constructs of light, texture, imagination and form. In a portrait there is always something to say and something we would like to know.
Weekly Photo Challenge: Mine

for all time
with endless love
mine
All weekend I have been thinking of my lovely daughter Lady, and her timeless heart. Never to be forgotten. This has always been one of my favorite photographs of her: Young, beautiful and imaginative. I thought this week’s challenge would be a perfect tribute to her. Rest in peace my Lady Pooh.
The Secret Place Of Lingering Memories

the life of memories
an endless vastness
– timeless
without world’s end
stretching beyond yesterday’s dream
and tomorrow’s infinite horizon
the life of memories
and its inner fortress
– the secret place
The Path To Grace And The Summit Of Ascension

Last night
I had a dream
So deep
Forever freeing
Never a moment
Did I long for awareness
Of the waking world
Here on the path of Grace
Beauty
Stillness
Love
As I ascended
Through the floating
Orbs of mystery
– past – time
And the Grace
That is You
A Moment In The Woods And A Mountain To Look Up To

I love the season of the bike
In the woods
On the mountain
By the lake
Over the rocks and streams
With blue skies above
Through fallen leaves and barren trees
A trail that weaves to and fro
A drop here
A lift there
I love the season of the bike
In the woods
On the mountain
What You Know To Be Right Is What Someone Has Told You

on a quiet shore
a solitary figure
not unlike yourself
shattered by the day
delineated by the question
of rights and wrongs
in life …
again and again
What Do You Remember On A Beautiful Fall Day

an ocean wave
a salty smell
and flocks of seagulls
– in soaring flight
eclisping the summer sun
What Do You Remember When Swimming In A Deep Blue Sea

Adrift
In a deep reflection
Lost at sea
With memories
Drowning
Sinking
In a pool of you
With the darkening blue
A drowning so timeless
Endless without you
What Do You Feel When You Look Skyward

i often look skyward
to direct my focus inward
sometimes feeling the sky speak
as I see things in a different light.
– than yesterday
the rain has gone
falling earthbound
– like the pepples of broken nights
with my dreams
lost in weary shadows
not to far behind
– from yesterday’s rising sun
Weekly Photo Challenge: Solitary

A solitary moment can be found almost anywhere. Mountain biking, gives me the opportunity to be one with nature, explore my inner solitude and focus my imposing will against the difficult terrain. Here is a shot from this weekend as my partner and I rode the trails at FANTS Grove at the forestry of Clemson University in South Carolina.
Weekly Photo Challenge: Everyday Life

I took this shot at Virginia Beach. A leisure kind of day. As we go through life, we sometimes need a ‘break’ from everyday life.
Images For Android Phones: Pop-Art Meets 2012 US Women’s Open Champion – Na Yeon Choi
What a fantastic victory for the 24 year old South Korean, Na Yeon Choi. Poise, skill and some rather good luck led her to her first US Major Championship. It was a difficult course depleting most of the opposition. She and fellow Korean, Amy Yang were the only two competitors to finish under-par. Yes without a doubt Na Yeon Choi is my favorite female athlete. You go Girl!
Images For Android Phones: Pop Art – The 2012 Tour de France

The Tour de France is underway. It will cover over 2000 miles in 3 weeks. This shot was taken during stage 2 in Belguim. The images of bicycling has always been a hallmark of Pop-Art.
Images For Android Phones: A River Runs Through It

Red. The color of those who lost their lives during the American Revolution. This is a photograph of the Enoree River In the back country of South Carolina. During a recent hike, I visited the Musgrove Historic State Park. A signifcant battleground between the British, American Loyalists, and the American Patroits. Intense and bloody battles insued. A divided country. Friend vs friend. Brother vs brother.
red…
a transfusion of color
in blood and tears
– of lost
and gain
but not without
the soul in pain
– the spirit transformed
and the cries of freedom
in red flow
down by the river
brave men fought for independence
– for some

The Olympic trials are in full swing. Competition. Endurance. Will. Beauty. Art and sports a Pop Art tradition. London 2012.
Images For Android Phones: A Place To Rest With Colors

a morning trek
so patiently caressed
on winding paths
while colors reach out
with subtle invitation
through angled trees
and grass so lean
the intrepid eye
never at rest
seeking things anew
with every test of step
except for here
under the gazebo
with summer’s warm
– embrace
as i wait for you
– knowingly
feeling at peace
feeling transcendent
Images For Android Phones: The Girl In The Summer Blue Dress

The ocean flows in many ways, not unlike the wind swept beach and the girl with the summer blue dress. As the sun fades, and ends the day. She casts her weary dreams out to sea.
Images For Android Phones: Standing With The Fading Sun

A photograph is never the end of a moment in time.
Images For Android Phones: The Last Moment (A Setting Sun Remix)

sitting on the beach
with the cooling sand
caressing my sandaled feet
mind and body
feeling bonded
with this very moment
the last moment
– here
with the setting sun
and you
while my joy
– and clouds
join in blended
transformation
leaving the waves
a fluid surrender
to a day ending
