A landscape can have its own surreal moment. And your memories can often be found there.

2013 was a very good year for creativity and artistic exploration: I created a series of video art pieces, that I feel stretched the potential of my imagination. That exploration also enabled me to learn a variety of technical skills in editing within the creative aspect of visual and musical composition. Check out my “Experiment: Data Complex” series. Most notably, my latter sub-series “The World” (4 videos). But I digress, the purpose of this post is to introduce my latest published book entitled:

N E W D I G I T A L S C A P E S | V A R I A T I O N S

In 2013, my photographic and digital artwork could overall, be found, in the “Variations” series. A remix of imagery that explored ambiguity, memories, dreams, and emotional constructs. The book is a total of 140 pages and features over 100 images in a large portrait format. The link above will forward you to my bookstore @ Blurb publishing. There you will be able to access a 37 page preview.

And last but not least, I would like to thank all my fellow bloggers, whose support in 2013 has been a great inspiration.

not a new year, just another tomorrow

not a new year, just another tomorrow

In the decade of our youth;
timeless, breathless, endless …
we never paused; we never questioned,
the forever future
– until now
and the promise of a “New Year”
just fading into another tomorrow

Weekly Movie-Making Moments in Film: Chelsea Walls

Inspiration comes in many forms. Thanks to my fellow bloggers for their inspiring prose, art, music and film reviews.

I thought I would start showing clips from some of my favorite films. Over the years, I have spent a considerable amount of time in theaters, and long nights viewing video tapes, and DVDs. And we cannot forget the ever consuming Netflicks via our computers. It is time to go deep, yes—very deep—and find those rare moments in classic film-making. These beautiful, intrepid, and visceral moments can be found delving into the issues of obsessive love, angst, betrayal, and tragedy (thinking of French, German and Asian films in particular). And what comes to mind when thinking of tragic French films? Well we can find the French catapulting our emotions in such films as: Un Couer En Hiver (A Heart in Winter) directed by Claudet Sautet, Damage with French actress Juliette Binoche and film direction by Louis Malle. And last but not least—my favorite French excursion into obsession is none other than the film Camille Claudel finely directed by Bruno Nuyten and…

An Entire Life And I May Not Know Myself

I was browsing some of my older posts and came across this one. I have been remixing this image and other ships at sea. The prose expresses my ambiguity.

Sometimes the next chapter is the same as the one before and the one before that….

Leaving behind the shore of dreams, I often wake to a life lost at sea….

A life misunderstood.

I sometimes wonder if I really know myself at all. I try to grasp, as I look back across the sea, the meaning of what has gone before. What remains on the distant shore…

The beauty of my indecisiveness. The machinations of my decisions.

Haunt me.

Like the fear of being stranded on land as my dreams sail away. There they go I say. Another day and it all remains the same…

Not unlike the fleeing faces in the clouds above or the uneasy sinking in the waves below….
