I have read and re-read this beautiful and haunting poem by one of my favorite poets. Ina.
Sometimes a day won’t really come at all,
you saw the new light but it sticks in the curtain.
To get something done, you are numb and unable.
No weather this day, grey lingers till dusk,
no hour is set for food on the table.
What happens to days that won’t come to life,
that make us believe that nothing is certain
that stay far away from the calendar pages
and will not be mentioned in history books,
not remembered or mentioned for ever, for ages?
It is in those days that poetry lives
in seclusion, unnoticed by all that makes sense
it sits in easy chairs, waiting for the right word,
or better thoughts, taking its time as daylight won’t come
and hours pass without a sound is heard.
As on those days of oblivion, lines are arranged
to sentences escaped from thoughts, intense
and from the blood, the…

The City Series: First Published Book

I just received the first copy of my self-published book: n e w d i g i t a l s c a p e s – art for posts: the city series. It is a 20 page volume of art, prose and poetry. The print quality is very good. And I am pleased with the final product.
I have to give all props to my friend AL B Ford for again capturing the wonderful flair and feel of Philadelphia. Northern Liberties is a great part of the city. Bohemian, artistic, industrious and full of life.
NORTHERN LIBERTIES | 2ND AND POPLAR STREETS
Night Market Philadelphia (because it’s a street market held at night) held it’s season opening event in Northern Liberties and as usual, since fall 2010 it’s a blast! You can always expect thousands of people participating in “queuing” up line to buy and sample some of the amazing food from 50 of the City’s coolest food vendors. The menu(s) includes the flavors of Japan, France Mexico, Italy, Korea, the Caribbean and more it’s a mouth watering and visual experience.
The Food Trust is the main sponsor of the Night Market Philadelphia roving street festival spotlighting our town’s best neighborhood restaurants and food trucks. There will be five (5) more Night Markets throughout the City this year the next one will be at 9th and Washington Avenue, Thursday, June 28th, 6-10pm.

The Dream Struggling To Complete Itself (A Waking Dream Remix)
Sometimes a dream no longer has words to say….
It only takes a moment
– to know
a dream has nothing more to say….
When A Waking Dream Can No Longer Speak In Words
The moment I awoke I knew the dream would end in silence…
the dream awoke …
with a stutter and a stir
it tried to find
in my mind
words to complete
a story unfolding
– boldly
in slumber
in death
a sleep with an end
and a dream
– with words
unable to speak …
– a dream struggling to complete itself
A very nice piece in abstract art from Povsuduvolosy.

Heading north from downtown Greenville on the Swamp Rabbit Trail. The SRT is an old railroad line. Now a crossway trail for bikes, runners etc. Here I am approaching The clock tower at Furman University with Paris Mountain in the background (a great place for mountain biking). At this point I am about 8 miles north of downtown Greenville.

Today was a beautiful day for biking here in Greenville, South Carolina. I am on the Swamp Rabbit Trail. This shot is in downtown Greenville at the Falls River Park.
Thanks to Maggie over at Maggie Madly writing for finding this funny little gem.
I was wandering around on Tumblr yesterday (which is an excellent site for procrastination or time-wasting, by the way) and I came upon this infographic, “How a Book is Born”, originally created by Weldon Owen Publishing.
Of course, the graphic is all in jest, but it is one of those hilarious things you find on the Internet… and the reason for its hilarity is that it is true. There were a few pieces of the infographic that hit home with me.
“Somebody has an idea. > Person is Stephen King, Lady Gaga, or reality show star. > Book approved for press.”
Unfortunately, this is true. The bigger your fanbase, and the bigger your name, the more likely you are to be published, because the publisher wants to make money. And the bigger your name, the more money you can reel in. So basically, you have to have money to…
