Weekly Photo Challenge: My 2012 in Pictures | Art
This week’s photo challenge is coming to an end. I thought I would include a few more images I created in 2012.
Weekly Photo Challenge: Surprise
What a great surprise to find out that my grandson Aden is an artist. This picture rocks. Thanks for the inspiration Aden. See you soon.
Post Canvas and Paint: Variations | It’s There If You Find It

struggling with that past
living with the evolution
knowing you’ve never evolved
art and thoughts remixed | an abstraction of historical things – the world under the heavens | dec 1988

the meetings are now on Sunday @ 1pm
yesterday we took group photos for the press release
– created postcards and graphics
talked and organized
back in October
we went to the American Music Theater Festival
you and i
to see 1000 Airplanes on the Roof
a science fiction music drama
it felt like the duration of timelessness
here in the empty space
a long time after
the things never remembered
your art, my art,
has always had its own history
– lost in stolen innocence
in this world
under the heavens
Weekly Photo Challenge: Thankful | For The Years Of Love

I have been so blessed to have a daughter who has given me a lifetime of joy and happiness. She passed away last year at age 33. Thoughout the years, I watched her grow from a young child full of playfulness, to a woman of spirit, and to a mother who could love her children unconditionally. We had some good times, the best of times, and a few times when we were at odds with each other. But then, that is the nature of relationships. Especially between father and daughter. But in-between we shared the greatest of moments. Moments that I am truly thankful for and will cherish for the rest of my life. Here’s to you my lovely daughter. All in Love.
A Rewind: Grandfather Mountain | Hiking in 2002

One of the coolest places at elevation in North Carolina is Grandfather Mountain. It is home of the mile high swinging bridge. At just over 6000 feet it is one of the highest mountain peaks in the state.
Weekly Photo Challenge: Thankful | Grandchildren

It has been a year and a half since my lovely daughter Lady passed away. She has left me and all who love her four beautiful children. I am so thankful and blessed to have them to share life and the memory of their mother. Pictured here are Ming age 2 and Syerra age 14. I had a wonderful holiday filled with their love and laughter.
art and thoughts remixed | an abstraction of historical things – intro

On the beach. With memories and historical things.
I am starting a new series. Or will at least move in that direction. Lots of history to my life; some joyous moments full of magic, some of it dark and full of lost. Explored and exposed. Expressed in art and penned in prose. Remixed and reinterpreted. Image and diary.
A Rewind: Paris | The River Seine

In 1990 I had the pleasure of going to Paris, France. I took the trip alone from the Netherlands. What an adventure seeing this beautiful city. I visited all the major museums in the city center along the river Seine. And of course the Eiffel Tower, the Latin Quarter and surrounding areas. I will always remember that moment in front of the Nord, thinking I was a long way from home.
Weekly Photo Challenge: Green | The Park
This is an interesting challenge. And a challenge to post mainly because it is asking for a multiple of images per post. However, because I am using my phone to post to the challenge, I do not have the capability, or have not figured out, how to post multiple images. Sigh. So please bear with me with the single image.
Nothing brings green to the forefront like a park. This digital collage created in 1997, is one of my first large-scale (42″ x 48″) prints. I’ve always loved this piece. I took all the park photos in Fairmount Park in Philadelphia while biking and hiking. I combined them with archival photos of my family in Central Park and 4th of July picnics. Green dominates the feeling of the piece. Lush and beautiful. The Park 1997.
A Rewind: The Blue Ridge Parkway
Over the past 2 years or more I have created over 300 new works of art. It has been a very prolific time for me creatively speaking; developing various platforms for the distribution of my art, exploring new techniques, sharing ideas and meeting new people. I recently began posting older work on my Facebook home page. I realize that as time progresses, I often attract new viewers to my online platforms. My blog offers the most exposure to my work. And it continues to provide the impetus for my creative drive. I truly appreciate those who have supported me in the past along with my most recent subscribers. Taking a page from my “A Rewind” series I started on Facebook, I think it is only proper that I do the same here on my art blog. So periodically I will post an image from an earlier post.
Weekly Photo Challenge: Geometry

The last day of the Geometry challenge, and I thought I would include one more entry. I have really enjoyed the challenge. I think a lot of my work can relate to the principles of geometry. This last post contains the piece entitled: “First You Make A Roux”. During my visit to New Orleans last year, I came across an antique shop which had the slogan painted on the window. I snapped the photo and then created this collage. Hope you enjoy.
New Landscapes: Winter – Departure Songs And Shattered Recordings

Oh if it’s more than I should
It’s more than I ever could
If my heart needed you to stay
At the end of the day
Would you go
Oh my life’s story is so thin
Underneath this torn skin
Lost in the hardness
Of this bitter chill
– a Winter
With nothing more to fill
Oh it’s more than I ever should
– if only
I could
Weekly Photo Challenge: Geometry
This piece is one of my favorites. In designing this digital collage I was attempting to bring the mind to a point of focus. Everlasting Consciousness. The Awareness of Light. This piece may not necessarily point to more traditional forms of geometric art. But I do believe it does perhaps achieve an ethereal, spacial, mathematical sensibility. Consciousness is design. Consciousness in its geometric form … is Divine.
New Landscapes: Winter – Tape Loops And Departure Songs

I just want to lie down
In the cold white snow
And listen
To the dreams
Come crashing down
I just want to sit down
In the bitter Winter snow
And listen
To the silence
Come screaming in
Weekly Photo Challenge: Geometry

Here is a rewind from my trip to New Orleans. An earlier post entitled: A Bridge Never Too Far (A Seeing Through Everything Remix). I thought this digital collage would be perfect for this challenge. A layered fusion of angles and perspective. Hope you enjoy.
New Landscapes: Winter – A Wonderland Of Dreams With You

A dream lingering in fire
With the warm pulse
Of departure songs
A Winter of magic and loss
– gone
In a cold and deepening frost
a rewind: n e w d i g i t a l s c a p e s: the abstract series (and some thoughts on joy and expression)
I recently published a small square, hard cover book of abstract digital art, poetry, and prose. What an exciting endeavor. The process was full of challenges, twists and turns (visually speaking), color, and contemplation. Many nights were spent with candles aflame, incense burning and music playing. In trying to find that inner connection, with all my experiences in life, I soon discovered the process that would motivate me unconditionally: Work with love. Work with intent. Art is a beautiful thing. Being in touch with the art of others is very inspiring and uplifting as well. As artists, writers, poets, and musicians we’ve come to love and appreciate the many vehicles for creative expression and community. Sharing our work is very important. Our blogs, books, exhibits, and performances are all vital in healing the soul of the planet. Our shared joys and tragedies find themselves being expressed and transformed via the beautiful and meaningful art that you and I create. Let us never forget, the significance of what we create, love and share.
New Landscapes: Winter – A Tape Recording Of Your Departure

we could fight
on a cold winter night
– with bitter kisses
New Landscapes: Winter – The Silent Season

I walk alone
– in silence
My footsteps left behind
Frozen in time
The snow painted path
Bathed – in silence
Your whispering voice
On the cold haunting wind
New Landscapes: Winter – The Film Of Life

An empty theater
A foreboding glacier chill
The bitter reminder
Of a life story un-fulfilled
New Landscapes: Winter – The Never Ending Darkness

Without ever an end
This tunnel of love
Filled with the coldness of night.
