Weekly Photo Challenge: Changing Seasons | Moments

Often a season is defined by the time of year, yet it can also bring us home. Home to a unique time in our lives. Where the joy of life blooms like Spring, fuels us like Summer, comforts us like Autumn, and brings loved one’s together like Winter.
Life in changing seasons.
Weekly Photo Challenge: Changing Seasons | Timeless

Moments of transition. Timeless in their seasonal change. Spring to Summer. Summer to Autumn. Autumn to Winter. Winter to Spring.
– Life in season
art and thoughts remixed | an abstraction of historical things – the world under the heavens | dec 1988

the meetings are now on Sunday @ 1pm
yesterday we took group photos for the press release
– created postcards and graphics
talked and organized
back in October
we went to the American Music Theater Festival
you and i
to see 1000 Airplanes on the Roof
a science fiction music drama
it felt like the duration of timelessness
here in the empty space
a long time after
the things never remembered
your art, my art,
has always had its own history
– lost in stolen innocence
in this world
under the heavens
Weekly Photo Challenge: Changing Seasons | Places

It only takes a moment to be in a different place. In a different season.
Weekly Photo Challenge: Changing Seasons | Exploration

a Winter of barren white frost
beautiful Spring in bloom
endless Summer with you
a mountain summit trail in Fall
A Rewind: The Silence In Urban Meditation | The Silence Series

Urban Meditation 03
In the city, the choices that become attachments lead us into the noise of our thoughts.
“The Silence Series” is one of my favorite series of works. The format of the each series consist of nine images that slowly evolves through the theme. Simplicity and meditation is the central focus of the collection. Select “The Silence Series” tag to see the entire collection.
“The Silence In Urban Meditation” reflects on the city as a place of ambiguity. Where the distraction inherent to city life, is the perfect place to foster a meditation practice of silence.
Weekly Photo Challenge: Reflections | In The Reflection Of Waking Waterfalls And Sunny Days

In the reflection of things experienced … life as we dream it.
the sun rose
in the morning mist
an image of beauty
like the sparkling sound
a cascade of falling water
Weekly Photo Challenge: Reflections | Cats, Reflections, and Surrealism

Some reflections can be found in nature: Elements of light, time, Spirit, and material compositions coming together to create moments of beauty. Then there are man-made reflections; designs, concepts, ideas, and digital manipulations, creating new ways of seeing a world in reflection. Here is an example of the latter: My cats, my design studio, and an idea that reflects my vision.
art and thoughts remixed | an abstraction of historical things – when the world you’ve come to know is full of quiet moments | feb 1987

we may be showing again in May
309 north 3rd street
– portraits;
it was sudden
the conversation about art … and
the things we longed for …
and realities never collected in one moment
… we get to the meeting late
and everyone is leaving
but i am here
on the beach
on the pier
flowered in peaceful meditation
art and thoughts remixed | an abstraction of historical things – when the world you used to know has been deconstructed | jan 1987

that afternoon i got the call
we didn’t do any work as a group
– afterwards
in the rain with the sleet and mist
a self-awareness deconstructed
to be thought of as weird trying to be normal
– a tentative thought
but i soon found out – asleep
in the abandoned monorail station
that everything was fine
Weekly Photo Challenge: Reflections | A Lake Forged In Digital Reflection

An image that is part of my “Post Canvas and Paint” series. A surreal reflection of a lake in a place unknown. A reflective dream of ambiguity.
Weekly Photo Challenge: Reflections | Summit

A soft subtle reflection of the sky in a puddle of resting water. After hiking to the summit of Grandfather Mountain, and crossing the gorge via the Mile High Bridge, I was treated to this beautiful view. What a lovely reflection.
Weekly Photo Challenge: Thankful | For The Years Of Love

I have been so blessed to have a daughter who has given me a lifetime of joy and happiness. She passed away last year at age 33. Thoughout the years, I watched her grow from a young child full of playfulness, to a woman of spirit, and to a mother who could love her children unconditionally. We had some good times, the best of times, and a few times when we were at odds with each other. But then, that is the nature of relationships. Especially between father and daughter. But in-between we shared the greatest of moments. Moments that I am truly thankful for and will cherish for the rest of my life. Here’s to you my lovely daughter. All in Love.
A Rewind: Grandfather Mountain | Hiking in 2002

One of the coolest places at elevation in North Carolina is Grandfather Mountain. It is home of the mile high swinging bridge. At just over 6000 feet it is one of the highest mountain peaks in the state.
Weekly Photo Challenge: Thankful | For The Road Back Home

Taking the road back home. Traveling north on route 13 along the Eastern Shore of Virginia. Having just left Virginia Beach via the Chesapeake Bay Tunnel, our destination is Philadelphia. We are thankful for a beautiful morning with a lovely fog filled landscape. Looking forward to seeing my grandchildren and family.
Weekly Photo Challenge: Thankful | Grandchildren

It has been a year and a half since my lovely daughter Lady passed away. She has left me and all who love her four beautiful children. I am so thankful and blessed to have them to share life and the memory of their mother. Pictured here are Ming age 2 and Syerra age 14. I had a wonderful holiday filled with their love and laughter.
art and thoughts remixed | an abstraction of historical things – intro

On the beach. With memories and historical things.
I am starting a new series. Or will at least move in that direction. Lots of history to my life; some joyous moments full of magic, some of it dark and full of lost. Explored and exposed. Expressed in art and penned in prose. Remixed and reinterpreted. Image and diary.
