The Drive Home After Seeing You For The First Time

The drive home after seeing you for the first time; lingers like the sweet dark night…

in a moment
just like this
your kiss …

– my angel

I had to include this song from Trespassers Williams. They are one of my favorite Dream Pop bands. While working on the image for this post, I downloaded their latest and last album entitled “Cast” (2012). A 2 cd set of past hits and new songs. Wonderfully crafted. Emotional as always, Trespassers Williams takes us again, to that place of love and longing. This track stood out for me and was a strong influence to the creative process for the piece. I highly recommend you listen to the song while drifting along the highway of your own dreams and memories.

When You Left … Even The North Star Could Not Guide Me Home

Departure Days | Fall In Play

This is a morning workout and practice run on a lake under construction in my home town of Gray Court, SC. This was my first exploration of this terrain. Keeping it simple. A mix of soft and hard ground. Lots of rocks, making for a lot vibration moving through the body (I actually injured my left forearm from a violent vibration sustained while descending one of the slopes). It has taken a few months for it to heal. But I love the locale it looks and feels other-worldly. And being that it is less than 5 minutes away from my home, it provides a nice work out in preparation for the mountain trails. Music by glitch master Alva Noto. The video itself has little processing and no editing.

Weekly Photo Challenge: Love | Ashes to Sea

Here is a link to an older post from June 2011. In 1997 friends and I spent a week in Barbados. It was during the Sugar Crop Over Festival. A weekend long celebration, that in of itself represented Love. I will post this part of the challenge later.

But for this post, I am focusing on Love as a ceremony. A going away celebration of a loved one.

In creating this series entitled Impressions In Barbados, I was interested in mimicking the style of the impressionistic painters. Hence the title. I hope you will enjoy my look at Love.

Impressions in Barbados 03 / Ceremony

Great track if you are feeling a little blue. And I am, after having sprained my thigh on black ice today. I love the music of Jon Hassell. Thanks World Music for the post.

With Friends

Life in memory …
with friends
a cycle of instances
– Reggie
that touch the past
like fine strands of silk
– Bob
nothing is forgotten
alive in delicate remains
– Robert
moments really did happen
here with you
– Judy
in this life of memories
your bodies gone
– Frankie
found again in thought
visited through Spirit and Light
– Zina
your lives
my memories
together …
Friends Forever

There is a beauty in the inter-connectedness of life and experience. We remember friends who have passed away. Their spirit, their laughter, the things they shared with us … as if it was only yesterday.

Weekly Photo Challenge: Beyond | Inner Space

PicsArt_1358707408887

Sometimes going “Beyond” is a reflection of who we are, and what we can discover about ourselves, when we take that important step inward to our quiet, inner, space.

Weekly Photo Challenge: Beyond | Horizons

The Horizon. A view just beyond. We follow it to our dreams and aspirations. It gives us a place of peace. And projects meaning into our lives.

Beyond imagination, are the creative designs in which we can find ourselves.

This theme is energetic, bold and fluid. A design onto itself.

Weekly Photo Challenge: Beyond | Landscapes

What a fascinating challenge this week. It provides so much leave way for the artist to convey a multitude of ideas and concepts on the theme. Beyond can take you many places. For my first entry, landscapes and beyond. All images here are digitally remastered to make the journey that much more exciting. From shore lines, to expanding sky, to mountain vistas … we step just beyond the ordinary.

You Thought You Knew Where To Begin When Leaving

Holding You

Your soft breathing
and beating heart
caresses my sadness
and brings peace to my longing

– There is a moment when the reality of life, in all its complexity, is simplified by one gesture … holding you.

Someday I Won’t Be Here

The Sunrise From Inside (A New Inner Vibrancy Remix)

At the start of a new day, the world inside … alive with promise.

A Lingering Sadness

The thought that you are no longer here … leaves me with a lingering sadness.

To You

it was warm with feeling
the celebration of your passing;
– fluid
with the colors of love

For You

in you

an evolving mystery
with piercing perspectives
and perplexed frailty

a continuum without end

now we are all dreaming
with the starlight in our eyes
on your final day
for you
