Weekly Photo Challenge: Reflections / Slow Creek And Trees

I discovered this lovely creek while hiking at Barnwell State Park in South Carolina during my artist residency with the state parks. What an incredible reflection. You can feel the stillness.

  2. Thanks Marie. This piece as well as the piece in the previous post both have a pencil effect layer at about 20% under the photo layer.

  3. Love the peaceful nature here Walter. One feels like a trespasser when visiting such places. We are lucky to have such places too in Tasmania.

    • So true Richard. We are lucky to find a quiet moment of peaceful solitude. We can be overcomed by the comings and goings of life.

  4. Nice shot, what are some of the effects you used?

    • Thanks Endless Frame. Often when I work with a landscape that I want to retain some amount of realism, I make subtle changes to underlying layers. I used the pencil and sharpening or high pass sharpening effects for texture. And highlighting one or two color tones.

  6. If this is a duplicate comment please delete it. I thought I left one here but now I don’t see it. I was commenting on how beautifully realized this image was and how the pencil effect adds so much depth, along with the reflection. Great job!

  8. It’s generous of you to share some of what you do to make these images – I know it’s true, often a small effect is the way to go. This is beautiful –
