New Landscapes: Fall In Play 02 - Start

Well here I am around noon today. My Trek bike and I are stationary on the ridge of a man-made lake which is under construction. Preparing for the first descent. It is a beautiful Fall day indeed. Mild temperatures and blue sunny skies. Mesmerizing and zen-like. Music on my Ipod; trance-like and meditative. Time to play. Lets start.

  1. Wouldn’t it be cool if our landscape looked like this…at least some of the time!

    • Yes it would Helene. The coloring effect helps bring this world to light.

  3. There's a frog on my Sprocket!

That’s amazing… Random thought, Trek began their journey in cycling in Carolina.
Your art is inspiring and makes me want to ride.

    • Thanks Ailson. My art is definitely inspired by my riding. Give me a trail or road an Ipod with some Ambient, IDM or Triphop in my ears and I am on the go. I appreciate you stopping by. Just a thought what did you think of the. Armstrong ordeal and its effect on cycling. I know that’s a big question. 🙂

I am saddened as Lance is an inspirational man. I have seen him speek a couple times at leadership seminars. He is motivational, and he talked about overcoming obstacles and barriers in life.
I defended him up until he quit fighting the allegations. So, for a moment I took it personal. But after a little thought I stepped back and realized that its not about me.
Lance is still a hero to me. His cheating, whether do to pressure to win or just out of personal want to do the same, is his daemon.
We all make mistakes and faulter and stumble. Seeing him as human inspires me. I know that sounds strange but it just does.
Also, I won’t turn my back on him just because he is not perfect. Before the whole thing came to a head Armstrong was someone I admired and now he is someone I support and have empathy and compassion for. I forgive him, and he is still a champion in my mind.
As for what it’s done to cycling, that stinks. My father has a very important interest in the sport and influence if you will. Thus, I won’t say much about the impact on the sport out of respect to him. I will say in my humble opinion the effects of Lance’s doping scandal on the sport are not his fault but the ICU and sponsors are to blame… They could have handled it or tested properly at the time and caught him then. As cyclist we don’t deserve the effect but the UCI and companies involved are getting just what they deserve.
Ooops I said way too much,
I do feel bad for other pro cyclists and teams like Garmin who are clean… Big shout out to Garmin Cervelo for playing by the rules.
