Weekly Photo Challenge: Peaceful 03 – Slow Creek and Trees

A lovely hike of leisure along a creek in the low-country of South Carolina….

During my 2005 artist in residency with the South Carolina State Parks, I had some time to hike and reflect. An important source of inspiration was the beautiful landscape at Barnwell State Park. Here I discovered a trail that meandered by a slow-moving creek. Trees over-hanging, and the glimpse of sunlight flickering on the water made for an exciting contemplative view.

Finding peace in nature and solitude

Life offers some very rewarding peaceful moments….

    • Thanks Xandi, I used a underlying layer of colored pencil and a hue change to get this result.

  2. That’s cool, did you use the coloured pencil filter all over the image?

    • Yes Gilly, I did use the colored pencil as one of the layers. I then worked the piece with a blend effect.

Simply amazing! You did a great job with this. Watching you post photo’s really makes me want to learn more about photography…just learning it myself…new Nikon camera because Kodak is going out of biz…

    • Jackie, thanks for the comment. I do not consider myself a photographer at any stretch of the imagination. Techinically, I am not trained. But my emphasis is the post-production of an image. Finding a new visual stimulation with each new venture. Digital art manipulation is my focal point.
